What Is The Treatment For Recurring White Patch In Front Side Of Leg?
Hi doctor, my cousin has white patch on front side of her leg since 20 years.where itching doesnt occur,she consulted dermatologist did medication, that time slowly the new patch which comes disappear,and that old one also becomes small in size but dint remove totally. Sometimes the new one starts appearing on other leg also and disappears by own,but old one didnt disappear.she is very much woorried.pllzzz suggest good and effective medicine, which can cure it permanently.t.y.
White patches are slow to respond. I would advice that you continue with the prescription and follow up with your dermatologist at regular intervals.

Hi there. Thanks for posting here, Your cousin may have vitiligo/leukoderma.There is absence of pigment called melanin in that part of skin. It is not a contagiousdisease, only a cosmetic problem. Steroid creams, tacrolimus cream and repigmenting medicines are used to treat this problem. Consult a dermatologist who can tailor the treatment as per her needs. Hope this is useful to you. Thanks for writing in to HCM White patches on skin can be due to vitiligo but can also occur in numerous other conditions like Nevus depigmentosus, idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis, Lichen simplex et atrophicus, Post-inflammatory hypopigmentation etc etc to name a few.
