Hi my son is two this week, he is recovering from hand foot and mouth, he also had chicken pox a couple of months back! He now has a red itchy hot rash behind his ears, side of face and neck. He also has big red spots and blotchy patches on his body, legs, feet and groin area! They have started itching aswell! His temperature is 37.9. Any idea what it could be?
hello I read carefully your question you mention that your sun is recovering from hand foot mouth disease caused by Coxsackie virus which is a enterovirus, propably after it your sun now has Infantile papular acrodermatitis which is a characteristic response of the skin to viral infection in which there is a papular rash that lasts for several weeks. infantile papular acrodermatitis affects children between the ages of 6 months and 12 years. infantile papular acrodermatitis characterized from eruption of dull red spots develops first on the thighs and buttocks, on the outer aspects of the arms and on the face. There is no specific treatment for infantile papular acrodermatitis. A mild topical steroid cream like hydrocortizon cream or emollient may be used for itch. thank you using healthcaremagic and feel free to ask me again
