What Is The Treatment For Sticky Discharge From The Vagina?

i just got out of the shower, and normally i have alot of discharge. today as i was washing my vaginal area, i cleaned the inside and out came very pasty chunks of discharge. it was somewhat close to a cottage cheese consistency. Doctors please help me with this, i would like to know is this serious? i am not familiar with situations such as these.
