What Is The Treatment For Strep Throat And Mono Tonsillitis?

I got tested for strep and mono tonsilitis a few days ago, and came back positive with the blood test for mono - the doctor said that I needed to rest, but will it affect my condition if I drink? I ve been given medications, but they don t seem to do too much because it still hurts a whole lot to swallow. When am I likely to feel any better? I m a 21 year old student.

Hi,

I suggest you to take Azithromycin for 5 days and then do warm salt water gargle, Do tongue scraping after brushing. Also, do Betadine gargle at night before sleeping. Don't have cold food stuffs for few days. Have hot food and hot water daily. It will be fine in a week or so.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
