What Is The Treatment For Swollen And Painful Knee?

Both of my knees are swollen and puffy. I have fallen several times in the last 3-4 years and always manage to land on my knees but neither have ever broken. I also have neuropathy in both feet -- this has occurred within the last 3 years. Could both of these conditions be related? I have to use a cane to walk but very thankful I can still walk but need to learn a better way to handle all of this. thank you.
