What Is The Treatment For The Restless Leg Syndrome?

I'm 5'3", 115lbs and 34. i sweat too much and have all indications for restless leg syndrome. it's gotten much worse very, very quickly i'm a horrible insomniac. my psychiatrist, who is on vacation, is trying clonidine for treatment (not working) and i sleep a normal night every 3 days. to add insult to injury, i have a viral upper respiratory infection right now that makes everything worse. i think it's my nervous system, and the benzo family makes it all better. what are equal alternatives since i don't want to get addicted. i've done that. OR are benzos my alternative to keep me sane. my 'base" level is far too sensitive. i should add that my father is a functioning insomniac (he sleeps 6 hours on ambien each night) and my mother has always been a nervous wreck (still blames my dad for everything.)
