What Is The Treatment For The Stye On The Eye And Should I Be Changing The Rags?

I have a stye on my eye. This is day 2 of having it. I never have had a stye before and I think it may have been caused by me using my mom s mascara.(Her eyes were healthy; no styes) My question is about treatment, I tried the warm compress and it helped. I used a clean wash rag and continued wetting it once it started getting cold. Am I supposed to change rags or use the same rag? If I have to use a different rag each time.. Why is that?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having style of the eye lid. Stye is because of inflammatory swelling of the glands on the eye lid margin as a result of infection.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops or eye ointments for topical application and antiinflammatory drugs for control of inflammation and pain relief.
Application of hot compression provides symptomatic relief.
In case of repeated style eye examination is required to rule out predisposing factors like blepharitis, refractive error.....
Thank you
