Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter and I thought we had threadworms (itch around front and back passage, cloudy urine, frequent stools) and have taken medicine (this was a week ago). I have followed all the instructions re cleaning and personal hygiene. However, our stools were rather frequent and loose again today and she is still itchy. How do we know the worms have gone? Can we only recontract the worms by ingesting eggs, or can the cycle carry on through eggs hatching, maturing and laying eggs all within the body?
Hi, It takes some time to clear all worms and ova and cyst from intestinal tract. So wait for some time to see full effect of anti-worm medicine. You may repeat the same medicine course after 1-2 weeks if there is severe worm infestation. You can give same course to other family members as cross contamination is common. Ok and take care.
