What Is The Treatment For Throat Irritation And Nasal Congestion?

Hi, I started feeling throat pain on Thankgiving. A week later, it had gotten so bad that I went to see a doctor. He said he didn't think it was strep, but prescribed some antibiotics for me. After the 10 day period, the pain mostly went away and I no longer felt as sick. However, I continue to have mild throat irritation (it feels dry at times) and some nasal congestion. I'm not sure why this persists as it's going on 4 weeks now.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have throat irritation and nasal congestion which is because of infection travel down the respiratory track and affected whole area an leads to granular pharyngitis and sinusitis. I would suggest you to again consult your ENT specialist for proper examination. He/she may prescribe further antibiotic course and stronger antibiotics. Take combination of amoxicillin along with Levocetrizine. You should put xylomist nasal drops to prevent congestion. You should take chicken soup along with along with lemon tea. Take diet rich in vitamin C. Take decongestant nasal sprays containing mucinex for instant relief.
