Hello,

Since you have been diagnosed with a cyst in the throat, you are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done by an ENT specialist to confirm thyroglossal duct cyst. You will have to get CT, MRI and USG done to confirm diagnosis. Thyroglossal duct cyst needs surgical excision. After the surgery you will be given antibiotics and analgesics for faster recovery. Get treated at the earliest.

In the meantime, you can take NSAIDS, Naproxen or Combiflam, one SOS to ease pain. Gargle with salt water 2-3 times a day to prevent infection. Take semi solid (oats, porridge, etc) food or liquid food. Do not strain your throat unnecessarily. Neglect will result in the worsening of symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
