What Is The Treatment For Throbbing Pain In The Hip Joint?

Hi Im 21 yr old female and I have been experiencing a kind of throbbing pain in both my hip joint areas for about a yr, I went to see a doctor who said it was bursitis and gave me antiinflammatory drugs but the pain is still here, and now i have noticed a small circular swelling on my outter right thigh maybe 10 cm below my hip joint, that is only visible when i sit down its not painful to touch maybe a little tender when i press hard on it...what could it be?
