Hi, Tonsillitis, is upper respiratory tract area hence the cause or effect would be spread of infection to sinuses, upper and lower respiratory tract and can spread through lymphatics to lymph nodes and through blood to other areas of body like on the palms. Surely the basic treatment is antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, symptomatic and supportive treatment. But also needed are proper investigations to know the cause and effects: Tests of blood including blood culture and sensitivity. Pus from tonsils or pustules over hand for lab. Liver, kidney functions. CT scan of sinuses and X-ray of chest. Any other investigations. All these with clinical evaluation by an ENT Surgeon will help to have appropriate medical management and surgery as and when required. Take care. Hope I have answered your question.
