What Is The Treatment For Vein Pumping On The Right Side Of The Head?

Hi. I ve just felt a little bit of pumping on right side of head and not on the left. Recently I also had excessive hurling and the occasional shortness of breath that came with it which as a result I had to sometimes hold my neck to burp or something like that, even though the doctor told me both things: torticollis on my neck and Ferd for the burping and prescribed me mio citalgan and nexium respectively. I feel better with these meds, but without them I keep grabbing my neck to burp. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms seem to be related to anxiety and tension type headache.

Your doctor has prescribed only symptomatic relief therapy (citalgan for the pain and nexium for the stomach).

I would recommend starting preventive therapy for headache, as the chronic intake of painkillers is not very advisable because their adverse effects.

I would recommend staring citalopram or escitalopram for this purpose.

Regarding your stomach troubles, performing a fibragastroscopy may be needed if your symptoms persist for a long time.

Meanwhile, nexium seems to be a good choice for relief of your symptoms.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Aida
