What Is The Treatment For Veiny Arms?

I am a femaile aged 29 and have recently developed very veiny arms that are getting worse each day. It started off when I was hot but now they are really visible all the time. They feel achy and hot, especially around my hands. When I lift my arms up they tend to go but return straight away when I lower them again. Is there a reason to this? What can I do to reduce them being visible?

Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM .

Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.

My opinion-

IN the given situation, You seems to be having-TOS-V-(Thorasic Outlet Syndrome)with Venous Obstruction, with Nerve Compressions of Brachial plexus-which needs to be confirmed by physical checks with your family Physician.

The achy and hot feeling in arms is from Nerve compression and from engorged veins and arteries supplying arm.

Other causes of veins getting visible- needs to be ruled out, before start of any treatment.

Do' Suggested-

consult and check with family physician .

Tab Motrin-1 x 2 times per day.

Tab Gabapentin-1-3 times a day x 5 days

Tab Neurobion-Fort-1-2 times a day x 5 days

If no relief-Consult Vascular Surgeon-

Get Chest-X-ray and CT Study done.

Get Opinion with Vascular Surgeon, after consults from family physician.

Consult Vascular Surgeon ,who would investigate further and would treat you accordingly, for worsening arm veins.

You may need some physiotherapy first.

And you may be advised-Decompression Surgery-to relieve obstructing muscle / or to increase the boney outlet of thorax.

Other causes of Visible veins, needs to be verified and ruled out, before giving any treatment to you.

Hope this would help you to plan further of this complex illness of yours.
