What Is The Treatment For Viral Infection And Strep Throat?
I have a serious viral infection and strep. I am on prednezone since sat am for the viral and ceftin for strep since wed night. I started the ceftin and I just got worse and worse...so I went back and they told me I had this other viral infection - so the Dr. put me on prednizone (steriod) 6 pills for 2 days, 4 pills for 2 days, etc....I have been on for 2 days. I m a teacher and I want to know how long am I contagious? I have no voice. I had tightingen in my throat, dry flem, bad cough, things getting stuck when I coughed or cleared my throat - it made things worse.... my voice is getting better, but I teacher high school and I know that I will not be able to speak all day without losing my voice. I don t want to go back to school and get all the kids sick. So, when is it safe for me to go back to school?

As you already taking treatment for sore throat, as per your history it may be laryngitis as you have difficulty in speaking. It's better to give voice rest for early recovery. Answer to your next question is its contagious till you have cold and cough. So better to rest at home till recovery.
