Hi,

Vitiligo is a condition in which the skin loses its natural color, resulting in pale white spots. While there is no cure for vitiligo, several treatments are available to help reduce the visibility of the white spots and even the skin tone. The medicine your daughter's doctor prescribed, Decaris 50mg twice a week, is a medication that may help slow down the loss of color in the skin.

Ointments are also a standard treatment for vitiligo, as they can help moisturize the skin and reduce itching and inflammation. However, it is essential to note that the effectiveness of these treatments may vary from person to person, and it may take some time to see results.

If the patient stops using the medicine, the white spot may come back, but it can be controlled by regular follow-up and treatment. It's best to follow the doctor's instructions and consult with them if you have any concerns about the treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
