Hello,

The white patch over your tongue is may be due to oral candidasis. It is very common in uncontrolled diabetes. This is due to defect in the host immunity.
I would advice my patient to follow the instructions of the doctor regarding the treatment of diabetes. Secondly an antifungal like fluconazole may be prescribed to treat the candidal infection.
Since you're a newly diagnosed patient it is important for you to control the blood sugar at early stage of the disease to delay the complications of diabetes.
