Hello Dr. Grief I am a 47 year old female, I exercise and eat right. I have white spots on my legs and a few on my arms, although I started noticing them about 10 years ago, over the past 3 to 5 years they are getting progressively worse. I would like to seek treatment, because I do take pride in my appearance and like wearing dresses and shorts ( age appropriate of course). I also have a growing number of moles on my face and other location (legs, arms etc.) but lots on my face. Any advise you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have white spots, they are idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis. The condition is related with ageing process. So, difficult to treat. However, Tacrolimus 0.1% ointment may be applied on the spots thrice a day for long time. And the moles are due to genetic tendency. That may be removed by laser therapy. Consult the nearby dermatologist and get proper advice and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel
