Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Judging from what you describe seem most likely to be an Insect bite Hypersensitivity reactiondermatitis. Symptoms like burning and blistering are very common after an Insect bite and imply severe reaction to the toxins/fluids derived from the insect.

Now that the skin is almost peeling after 2 weeks, indicates that it has mostly resolved by itself. I would suggest that you apply a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g fluticasone propionate cream , twice daily to the affected area. Steroid application would hasten the resolution of the dermatitis, whatever of it remains.
