General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is normal for diabetics to get uro-genital thrush. It is crucial to get your blood sugar well controlled. The brown discharge like old blood is due to damages of the skin/mucosa while scratching.

I also advise to:
- use OTC clotrimazole cream mixed with hydrocortisone cream locally
- do urine analysis to exclude urinary tract infection and get it treated properly
- use cotton panties

Hope it helped!
