What Is The Yellowish Discharge After Having Sexual Activity?

Hi, I have been noticing a pus-looking, yellow ish discharge for the last couple of months. It only appears after i have been sexually active but usually goes away after a week. Im finding it very uncomfortable and sore around the area and it is painful to touch. Is this just thrush? Or should I see a doctor to check it isnt an STI?
