What Is This Shock Feeling In The Left Foot ?

Hi, I am a 39 year old female. I Just started work in May of 11 after 10 years of not working and living a very sedentary lifestyle . This is the 3rd time now that I have felt a horrendous shock in my left foot, right in the arch . The first time, I was lying in bed, the second time I was standing at work, and the 3rd time; I was sitting in my recliner at home. The pain is excruciating! It feels like someone is shocking me in the arch of my foot, it is a pulsing shock. The first 2 times it s happened, it only lasted a few seconds; the 3rd time, it lasted for a full 2 minutes! This is only happening in my left foot, but both of my big toes are always numb. What can I do to stop this pain from re-occurring?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for query,
You have not mentioned your age.
If you are elderly then it is possible that you might have degenerative changes in your spinal vertebrae and leg bones causing pain and numbness of big toes.
Do physiotherapy,
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get diagnosed.
if you are smoker then also this problem occur.
ok and bye.
I find this answer helpful
