What Is Treatment Plan For The HD And Presently Taking Multivitamins?
I was dx. with HD at the age of 30years old . I am now 67 years old. The disease progress is still manageable. However I would like to know what is a good plan of treatment for this disease. I am presently taking a multivatimin and vitamin b6 100mg daily. What do you recommend.
Treatment of Huntington's disease involves multidisciplinary approach, with medical, neuropsychiatric, social, and genetic counseling for patients and their families. Treatment depends on symptoms.Chorea(abnormal involuntary movement disorder) may be controlled by Dopamine-blocking agents like tetrabenazine.Depression and anxiety can be treated with appropriate antidepressant and antianxiety drugs.Psychosis can be treated with atypical neuroleptics like clozapine, quetiapine , and risperidone.however there is no adequate treatment for the cognitive decline.thank you
