What Is Yellow Fluid Inside Abdomen Causing Abdominal Pain?

I recently underwent a laparoscopic procedure for chronic rt sided flank and lower abdominal pain. I have previously had two cystoscopies and one lithotripsy for recurrent kidney stones on rt side. During the laparoscopy a large amount of yellow fluid was found and removed from my abdomen. Since then, no rt sided pain (which has been daily for months). Gyn questioned whether the fluid was urine. What else could this fluid be and could it be causing the chronic pain? Should I follow up with my PCP or Urologist or leave it alone?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

IT is a good news that your pain has gone after the Laparoscopy and removal of the yellow fluid from the abdomen.

This yellow fluid can be due to :
-Primary peritonitis as it was causing pain and its removal made you symptoms free- One gets antibiotics too along with other medications. This might have helped you more.
-Tuberculosis as a another diagnostic possibility.
Your putting the report of the analysis of the ascitic fluid would have helped me to tell you more.

This can not be urine as it causes another problems, It can not be persisting in the abdominal cavity so long.
Further treatment may be necessary depending upon the reports of analysis of the fluid and other corroborative evidences.
