Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
There are two possibilities:
1. Seizure
2. Psuedo seizure or hysteria.

If possible give us details of whether he is conscious during the episodes or gets unconscious.
Also, any tongue bite, frothing from mouth?
Get him evaluated.
If required he would be asked for MRI Brain and EEG studies.

This is my personal opinion for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me.
