What Kind Of Cast Will Be Done Around The Fractured Foot?

I fractured my foot and the doctor told me that after wearing a cast for a period it would then be taken off and I would have a support bandage put on. Am just curious as to know what sort of bandage it could be and would I still need to use crutches. I am 30 years old, 5 feet, and 200 pounds.
