What Leads To A Pink Eye And Pain In The Tonsils?

I had pink eye in my right eye and my right tonsil was extremely painful, then was covered in white. The pink eye moved to my left eye, and the pain and white left my right tonsil and now my left tonsil is doing the same thing. Are these two symptoms associated?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Red eyes, inflamed tonsils with white patches is indicative of Tonsillitis due to bacterial infection and also bacterial conjunctivitis showing red eyes. Consult your Doctor immediately for clinical examination, tests of throat swab, tests of blood and get you started on appropriate antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and added medicines.

Povidone Iodine gargles help to control local infection. Eye drops should be as suggested by a Doctor and if needed take a second opinion of an ENT and Eye surgeon for additional confirmation and treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
