Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Leads To Memory Loss After Suffering From Absence Seizure?
I have a vagas nerve stimulater implant . It worked well for 10 years. Lately I have had absent seizures, seizures where the room turns on its side, a migraine that lasted 8 days. I was hospitalized for 5 of those days. I am still feeling confused, forgetting everything and repeating everything, trouble remembering people I have met before when I never forget a face. Just feeling very cloudy mentally and intellectually. My mind is the best part of me. How soon do I need treatment or is there any?
As per my clinical experience, the suggested symptoms indicate possible neurologic disorder of brain white matter and grey matter areas responsible for memory as hippocampus, amygdala and others. Secondary causes of altered neuro chemical transmitters like serotonin, GABA, glutamate and acetyl choline are also considered very vital in this regard. Kindly get an MRI brain and if available of last consultation with your doctor, immediately share it with me during follow up chat box session to carry on further guidelines of cure.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
