General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, poor weight gain indicates developmental delay as the appetite is normal. There can be underlying malabsorption disorder or others, which has to be sorted out with thorough history physical examination including that of developmental milestones, systemic measures and supportive lab data with stool microscopy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
