Hearing defects are to be examined clinically and few tests are to be done to find out the actual cause. A few probable causes of hearing loss or defective hearing are chronic exposure to loud noises, excessive ear wax, medications that cause hearing loss, head injury, or ear infections.
Conductive and sensorineural hearing loss are o be differentiated and cause to be found out to treat it. Please do contact an ENT specialist at least outside of your place.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
