What Made A Diabetic Elderly Woman Unable To Walk?

My Mom is 76 she was ok until feb when she returned from texas with a old boyfriend. she can barely walk very far. and since has a wheelchair for help. She is diabetic, she recovered from cancer 6 yrs. ago and had openheart surgery a year and a half ago. She has totally went from an active woman to nearly not being able to do anything she has had many tests which come back normal. My concern is that this man who recently lost his wife that was an invalid for many years. is giving her something to relive it in my mom. Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear madam I understand your concern.
I am sorry to hear you have been having difficulties in walking
The symptoms what you are seeing might be due to long term diabetes. This condition is called Diabetic neuropathy.
Due to the treatment given for recovery of cancer there might be little damage to central nervous system which is super added by nerve damage due to uncontrolled diabetes.
There might be chance of secondaries in brain which should be ruled out with PET scan.
I suggest you to meet a neurologist and take his opinion
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.
Otherwise please accept & rate my answer. I will appreciate your review about my answer.
Best Regards.
