What Makes An Infant With Common Cold Cry For 2 Hours?

Hi, Im m,,. from India. I have one baby boy 6 month old. Last month he affected seviour cold. He cant control him, so he cried continuously 2 hours. I went up and check in nearest hospital, doctor told it s normal cold. But i cant accept. I want to know what is that exact cause of that problem.
