What Makes My Skin Red After Taking A Warm Water Bath?
I don’t have a problem, just an odd question out of curiosity. When showering with warm water, after I get out, my skin is red. The part that is red is the part of my body that is under the water the most. With that in mind, my question is: What makes my skin red in this situation? Is it 1) My body sensing the warm water and vasodilating as a proactive measure 2) My body heating up, sensing the increase in heat, and vasodilating 3) My skin being irritated by the warm water and turning red 4) Something else Thanks for the insight!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is extremely common to have redness or bright pink hue on the skin post bath, especially warm water baths. This happens due to the capillaries inside the layers of the skin dilating and blood supply increasing to that part.
Hope that helps!
