What Makes The Limbs Turn Blue And Extremely Cold To Touch?

My daughter was hospitalized over the weekend for her hands and feet being cold like ice cubes and she was starting to turn blue. I took her into the er and they admitted her and ran a bunch of different test on her. The in the end told me they don't know what is wrong with her. I was wondering if you have heard of anything like this and if so what was the diagnosis?
