What May Be The Cause Of Cracking And Peeling Of Skin?

Hi.. I ve had this problem for about a year now. My thumbs are cracked and peeling. Severely!! Now they are purple, very painful and unsightly!! I ve tried everything over the counter thinking I can heel myself. I guess it s really time to have it checked out. I m living in misery.. Help :(

Hello..

You seem to be suffering from chronic hand eczema.
Are you exposed to any chemicals, detergents, plants, gloves on a regular basis?
One year is a long time. You need to visit a dermatologist soon. If its eczema, you need to be started on antibiotic steroid combination creams and oral antibiotics.
Till then, avoid any allergens mentioned above. Use a mild sensitive cleanser like cetaphil. Keep your hands moisturised.
