What Medical Condition Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

I have a dull pain in right lower abdomen off and on since Thanksgiving. Had 2 CT scans, one for appendicitis and one of right side of abdomen, both clear. Went to GYN and had complete exam including pap and ultrasound. clear. Went back to GP and he is referring me to Gastroenterologist for RLQ (pain in right lower quadarant) Can't get in until 9/5... What are your thoughts?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Pain in right lower abdomen with normal reports of CT scan and Gynecological examination. Ultrasonography indicate towards a cause that can not be detected by these. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation. Send the stool for lab tests for 3 days.

Get the Urine tests and blood tests. Intestinal pathology may not show on Ct scans and Ultrasonography hence also needs clinical examination to see for any colitis or so and get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. T Chandrakant,
