What Medication Is Suggested For A Wound After A Cut?

I cut the top of my thumb cleaning the Ninza blade of my processor. The blade went into the thumb leaving a deep half inch wide cut. It took awhile to ease the bleeding off and then I put butterfly stitch across it and bandaged it up. Now I am needing to know if I should put some type of ointment on it.

Hi,

You have taken right treatment in the form of stitching. After 1 to 2 weeks you may be alright. If you feel pain or infection at the site, you apply antibiotic cream like mupirocin oint and short course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs.
