Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, a new severe headache is a reason to look at what might be causing it.

The back of the head up from the neck is in the direction of where nerves come out of the spine right at the top of the neck.

THings regularly happen to these nerves producing pain ON ONE SIDE. so, it doesn't fit the problem very well. But it is in the pattern of a pnched nerve for most of it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
