What Medicine Should I Take For Lowering LDL?

My HDL is 112, my triglycerides are very low (not sure of #) but my LDL is 160. Does the HDL # sort of cancel out the LDL # somewhat? I am allergic to statin drugs so my doc put me on Welchol, which bloats me terribly and upsets my stomach, not to mention causes gas. What else could I do?
