What Medicines, Other Than Vytorin & Lipitor, Can Keep Cholesterol In Check?

I am on Vytorin 10/20 for several years now. I could not tolerate Lipitor 40mg. Vytorin has been effective in keeping my LDL at about a 100. However, it is very expensive. Under ObamaCare it costs $600 for 90 tablets. Ezitembe alone is higher. Do you have a recommendation as an alternative? Thanks.

Welcome to Health Care
Vytorin is a combination of 2 different classes of drugs - ezetimibe and simvastatin / Lipitor is atorvastatin

The alternative classes include bile acid sequestrant like Cholestyramine, Colestipol.. / fibrtaes like bezafibrate, gemfibrosil…

Life style changes – Diet & Exercise / Avoiding alcohol and tobacco – form the base line…
Discuss with your care provider
