What Might Be Going On When BP And Pulse Rate Is High Despite Taking Pravastatin And BP Medication?

I took my first dose of Pravastatin 20 mg. last night along with Diatiasem for high blood pressure. Today I have felt bad all day and found my blood presssure and pulse to be higher than it normaly runs - 150/81 pulse 105. Any suggestion as to what might be going on??

Hello,

Your blood pressure values are above normal values and this could be related to pravastatin intolerance. This drug does not raise blood pressure values, but it could lead to discomfort and muscle pain. If you feel any of the above symptoms in the next days, I recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of switching to another drug.

There is no interaction between Diltiazem and Pravastatin, but as you are feeling bed, it could be a possible intolerance to Pravastatin. If this situation persists in the next days, especially if you are feeling week or muscle pain, I recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of switching to another drug.
