What Other Permanent Solution Besides Sulfamethoxazole For Recurrent Paronychia Is Available?

My husband had Paronychia the first week of August. It did not get any better so we have been to the Dr. three times. They put him on Sulfamethoxaxole for 10 days and drained the pus, cut half his nail off...etc.. It never really went away and now it is back. What do we do now, he seems very uncomfortable.

Hello,
It is my privilege to help you.
I have gone through your husband history. As he had Paronychia for which he has taken treatment with drug and drainage of the pus.
Once again he is having same problem.Patients with recurring or chronic paronychia require frequent follow-up monitoring to prevent possible superinfections or deep-seated infections.
It is necessary to consult a hand surgeon at the earliest.
Thank you
