HI Doctor, What is the best ointment or cream to get immediate relief from Pruritus? I m 68 years old and CKD patient. Kindly advise an over the counter ointment and antihistamine tablet to get immediate relief. I know it would be a temporary one. But still I need it. Thanks

Hello,

For pruritus in CKD, Doxepin is very useful. However, please check your phosphorus and uric acid levels because when they are high, you have pruritus.
