What Precautions Should Be Taken After A Cut By Dog's Teeth? TT Injection Taken

Dr. While feeding bread to my dog accidentally his tooth has cut my finger like when we pierce a needle and a drop of blood has come. Immediately i have washed my hand with soap and taken a TT injection pls guide me what all precautions i have to take like food and medication. It is a 2 and a half month old pamerian dog. 1st month vaccination has been given last month to dog.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Domestic animals should be vaccinated against rabies once a year.
Even though your pet dog is vaccinated against, you need to take some measures.
First of all you need to wash the wound with soap and water for 10-15 minutes.
The severity of the bite depends on the site of bite and depth of the wound.
The deep wounds (bleeding wounds) and bites on upper limbs and head & neck region are more serious that superficial scratches and bite on lower limbs.
Washing should be followed by tetanus toxoid (TT) intramuscularly.
Since, the bite is deep, I would suggest you to take the rabies vaccine.
The course of rabies vaccine is doses on day 0, 3, 7, 14, 28 and 90.
