What Precautions Should Be Taken After Brachycardia Diagnosis?
my husband got up yeserday and felt like the room was spinning around him - I measured his blood pressure, his pulse was very low he has felt very weak ever since We saw a doctor who diagnosed brachycardia Do you have advice as what he should/should not do we live in a remote locaation where medical help is hardly available
hello bradycardia can be life threatening and since he is symptomatic, living in remote areas is totally not advisable. but if he is diagnosed brqdycardia ehy arent you treating it.. you must treat the cause. like if there is a conduction block then a pacemaker can be put. or if no cause is found again a pacemaker can be put.. the pacemaker will maintain his cardiac rhythm and he will be symptom free. pacemakers usually work for along time. their service and checking is free and regular for lifelong. it would be very beneficial for him. in that case u can live at remote areas also.. but again first the cauee must be treated. if cause is not found and pt continues to be symptomatic a pacemaker has to be put. anothrr option is to do a holter monitoring which records EKG continuously to determine how many episodes of bradycardia he has everyday. and then treat accordingly. thank you
