What Precautions Should Be Taken For An Alzheimer S Patient Sleeping In A Chair?

Ny mother has alzheimer s and is in a nursing home, she can t walk but can get up for the bathroom at times. she eats and sleeps in this wheelchair. recently she has fallen 3 times in the last few weeks and has a fracture on one of her fingers, she will not sleep in a bed, (I haven t seen her in a bed for 50 years, only in a chair, now wheelchair, how can we keep her from falling out? She is in Indiana and my sister s that live there help with her care.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
There is no specific precautions for your mother who is a patient of Alzheimer's disease while she sleeps in a chair except to prevent her from falling.
She is more prone to falling and thus hurting herself because of nature of the disease.
All that can be done is to place her in a comfortable position so that she does not fall down and hurt herself.
