What Precautions Should Be Taken In Treating Infection With Antibiotics?

an elderly patient recently had an infection in the bursae on his shoulder and an open wound draining that would not heal, he was diagnosed with tb caused by a tb infection years ago. is this contageous and what precautions should be taken while he is recieving antibiotics
