What Prognosis Can One Expect From This Urine Analysis Test Result?

I have RBC of 5 from two urine samples take one day apart. also the bacteria and epithelial cells are Many on these two samples. my general Dr refer me to Urologist who wants to do CT scan (Hematurial/CT IVP), urine cytology, and put a scope in bladder to rule out blander cancer. I request for another urine sample to recheck RBC, but the urologist thinks even if it is nagtive, it does not tell anything. are all these tests over kill? please help

Urine test results with the presence of RBCs, bacterial cells, epithelial cells indicate a different kind of illnesses.

Just from the urine test results , its not fare to come a conclusion which says about severity of the disease. Usually, the presence of these things in urine indicate things like bacterial infection, injury to the surface epithelium and many other illnesses.

Whenever a patient comes to my clinic with complaints related to the urinary tract, along with urine test there are other things that are required to be examined along with other diagnostic tests, history plays a very significant role.

If you are not satisfied with your current physician and his suggestions you always have an option to go for a second opinion. After that you can go for the best thing you want to follow.
