Hello
I have gone through your question and understood your concern.
The normal range of
Thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) is
The anti TPO antibodies is an autoimmune thyroid marker.
The presence of serum thyroid antibodies usually indicates an autoimmune
thyroid disorder like Hashimoto disease (in 90%-100% of cases ) or Graves disease (50%-80%)
But elevated levels may also be detected in other conditions like: Other autoimmune diseases (eg, type 1
diabetes mellitus),Pregnancy,Sporadic
multinodular goiter or isolated
thyroid nodule.
About your question,i can say that your actual TPO level is high and this is enough to be considered an autoimune disorder.
This autoimune disorder very probably is Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The second option(less probable)is Graves Disease.
Other tests like thyroid ultrasound, thyroid function tests(TSH ,fT3 ,fT4) and anti Tg ab, are necessary to reach the right diagnosis.
My advice is to consult your doctor as soon as possible, if you start to have symptoms of hypothyroidis(in case of Hashimoto disease) or hyperthyroidism(if your diagnosis is Grave's disease) because in this moment you will need a treatement.
Anyway don't worry because TPO antibodies may appear decades before overt hypo or hyperthyroidism is detected. So,you have no reason to worry for the moment.
Hope i have answered to all your questions.
If you have other queries, feel free and ask.
Best regards.
The higher the TPO Antibodies, the higher your likelihood of developing overt
hypothyroidism, and possibly additional autoimmune conditions.
