Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Roles Do These Azithromycin, Levothyroxine, Finasteride And Pravastatin Play?
I have a list of medications given to me so they say at the hospital and I didn t receive them. I would like to know what these are perscribed for. azithromycin 250 mg, criamzerene 50mg, atenolol 25mg, levothyroxine 125mg, finasteride 5mg pravastatin 8mg., doeyusate 100mg, Thank you.
Azythromycin is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infection (throat, respiratory tract, etc). Triamterene is a diuretic, together with atenolol they are used to treat hypertension and increased heart rate. Pravastatin is a statin used to treat hypercholesterolemia. Levothyroxine is used to treat thyroid problems, while finasteride to treat enlarged prostate (if you're male of gender; otherwise there might be other problems).
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
